Isabel Gonzalez Whitaker

Author and journalist Isabel González Whitaker has worked as a top editor for some of the world’s largest media brands covering celebrity, culture, politics, and breaking news.
González Whitaker is the daughter of Sara J. González, a Cuban exile who became a well-known advocate for Hispanics, minorities, and immigrants in the South. During PLS, González Whitaker broke ground on the park she created in her mother’s name, the Sara J. González Memorial Park. The park celebrates Atlanta’s diverse communities with an all-abilities playground, wheelchair access throughout, a soccer field, and a community plaza.
