Erika Gonzalez

After nine years of practicing military medicine as an Active Duty Officer in the United States Air Force, Erika Gonzalez started her own private practice specializing in the treatment of patients with asthma, allergies, and immunodeficiencies.

During PLS, Erika worked to launch an asthma home intervention pilot program in San Antonio to identify at-risk patients and help reduce the rates of hospitalizations and school days missed by children due to uncontrolled asthma. As part of the program, patients have in-home visits from health case workers and are connected with existing community resources to help them overcome identified barriers to asthma.
